Philip William Goatcher was born in London in 1852 and became a famous theatrical scenic artist in Australia.

James Goacher the Jewel Thief

James Goacher was convicted of theft and transported to the American colonies in 1744. Some American researchers believe that the extensive Gotcher families in the USA are descended from James.

Henry Goucher the Horse Thief

Henry Goucher was convicted of horse stealing at the Old Bailey in London in 1811 and sentenced to death. However the Prince Regent commuted his sentence to transportation for life, and he was shipped off to New South Wales in Australia.
